Bloom: A Mother–Daughter Coming-of-Age Retreat

Every girl deserves a moment that changes her story...and every mother deserves to witness it. Bloom is a life-shaping initiation retreat for girls aged 11 to 18 - and the women raising them.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Grow closer. Slow down. Create the memories she’ll carry for life.

There’s a moment every mother feels... when your daughter starts to shift into her next chapter, and the closeness you once moved through so easily begins to feel just a little out of reach.

The quick moods.

The emotional waves.

The independence that arrives overnight.

The sweetness that shows up in flashes… then disappears behind a closed bedroom door.

And in the middle of the school rush, work deadlines, dinner thrown together, and both of you scrolling between tasks… it becomes harder to create moments that actually feel meaningful. BLOOM was created to give you those moments back...beautifully, intentionally, and away from the noise.

What to Expect

BLOOM is held on a peaceful horse ranch - bush, fresh air, fire crackling at night, no phones in sight… just space.

Space to breathe.

Space to laugh.

Space to be together without interruption.

This isn’t therapy.

It’s not a parenting workshop.

It’s a gentle, powerful immersion where you reconnect through shared adventure, conversations guided with care, and the kind of weekend that reminds your daughter she’s safe with you… and seen by you.

You’ll arrive as mother and daughter. You’ll leave closer than you’ve been in years.

WORKSHOP TOPICS

Bloom together. Grow together.

Set in a stunning natural environment, this three-day adventure invites you to step away from routine and share real, unforgettable moments together.

Connecting deeply

Strengthen your connection with yourself and with your daughter and deepen your understanding of one another.

Self-love vision boarding

Create a visual of what's important to you so you can keep choosing self-love well after the retreat ends.

Boundaries and consent

It's about so much more than just learning how to say no. It's about becoming empowered and self-aware to create healthy relationships.

Hands on learning

Whether you're crafty or physical, we've got you covered in our intentional workshops.

Be fully you

Embrace your unique qualities and learn to love all parts of yourself, while building confidence and resilience.

All about your cycle

Living a pleasure-filled life going with the flow of your menstrual cycle, not fighting against it, plus natural remedies.

How we relate to others

Out with the old. We teach communication in a new and playful way that celebrates authenticity and healthy relating

Nourishing your body

How to fully love your body including topics around unhealthy eating patterns and eating disorders.

What to Expect

Because girls don't just need advice...they need presence

Your daughter is carrying so much – friendships, identity, emotions, school pressure, social media noise.

And she doesn’t always have the words for it.

But she feels everything.

On the ranch, away from screens, surrounded by nature and likeminded families, something softens.

She opens.

You open.

And the two of you meet in the middle again.

Because girls learn emotional safety not from perfection… but from shared moments of presence, honesty, and playfulness.

BLOOM creates those moments without forcing a thing.

YOUR ACCOMMODATION

Set into 15 acres of bush on the coast in Mandurah

A hidden pocket of nature close enough to reach easily… yet far enough to feel like a true escape. Where the city noise disappears and the bush wraps around you like a deep exhale. Wake to birdsong, soft morning light, and the kind of stillness your nervous system has been craving.

Accommodation options are beautiful private bedrooms for those who want to be in the main house as well as exquisite glamping bell tents, for those wanting to be even closer to nature.

HELLO FROM US

Meet your hosts

Andrea Nerva

Andrea Nerva is the co-creator and lead facilitator of Every Woman's Rite, offering

transformative workshops, retreats and ceremonies that honour life's rites of

passage and celebrate the journey from girlhood into womanhood.

With more than 30 years in education and over 25 years of lived experience as a

mother, Andrea brings exceptional wisdom, warmth and presence to every space

she facilitates. Her work is devoted to helping girls, women and mothers navigate

life's transitions with greater confidence, self-awareness and joy.

Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Education and trained as a Steiner Teacher, Andrea

beautifully integrates educational practice with a deep understanding of psychology,

emotional wellbeing and human development. Over the years, she has supported

thousands of women and girls to reconnect with their authentic selves and embrace

the next chapter of their lives with courage and purpose.

Andrea's gentle, grounded approach creates an atmosphere where families feel safe

to open their hearts, celebrate one another and create memories that last long after

the retreat ends.

Daniela Cooper

Daniela is the founder of The Gather Project, a qualified counsellor, somatic

practitioner, equine assisted psychotherapist and mother of four.

Before dedicating her life to transformational work, Daniela spent over 20 years

leading high-performing teams in the corporate world, including as a state-wide

News Editor. While her career was built on leadership, strategy and delivering under

pressure, it also gave her a firsthand understanding of the relentless pace, invisible

mental load and constant expectations so many mothers quietly carry

Today, Daniela combines that real-world leadership experience with professional

training in counselling, nervous system regulation and somatic practice to create

retreats that are both deeply meaningful and thoughtfully designed. Her unique

approach blends evidence-informed psychology with creativity, play, nature and

genuine human connection, allowing families to experience lasting transformation

without losing the joy along the way.

Having navigated her own journey through burnout, divorce, single motherhood and

rebuilding life from the ground up, Daniela understands how easy it is for women to

lose themselves while caring for everyone else. Her greatest passion is creating

spaces where mothers and daughters can slow down, reconnect, celebrate one

another and build relationships that continue to flourish long after the retreat has

ended.

Daniela believes that some of life's most powerful transformations don't happen

through more information. They happen through shared experiences, courageous

conversations and feeling truly seen. Every retreat she creates is designed to offer

exactly that.

Kieana Copeland

Kieana Rose is a Rites of Passage mentor based in the South West of Western

Australia and the founder of Wildly Liberated, a movement supporting girls and

mothers through life's biggest transitions.

Following a decade of solo motherhood and her own healing journey through PTSD,

Kieana has dedicated her life to helping girls feel emotionally supported, deeply seen

and celebrated for exactly who they are as they grow into womanhood.

Through retreats, school programs and one-on-one mentoring, she gently guides

women and girls back to their bodies, their voices and their inner wisdom. Her work

is grounded in compassion, emotional resilience and the belief that every girl

deserves to enter each new stage of life feeling confident, connected and supported.

When she's not with her children or holding space for families, you'll find her by the

ocean, hiking, writing poetry or sharing wholehearted laughter in an improv comedy

workshop.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take more than one child to a retreat?

We recommend attending with one child at a time to allow for deeper connection and more focused bonding. If you’re interested in bringing more than one child, please contact us to discuss options.

Can a mother figure take my child?

Yes. Absolutely! We think of Mother as a Verb, not a noun.

What if I come after arrival time or leave early? Is there flexibility to come and go?

Sorry, but no. You’re in for the whole deal. Once we’re on retreat, we’re there to stay – unless there’s some unforeseen emergency. Leaving disrupts the experience for you and others.

What do I need to bring?

Once you’re signed up, we’ll send you a full list. But the short version is: toiletries and clothes.

Is it true? No mobile phones?

Very true. And even if it sounds painful, it’s probably going to become a huge gift. We will have staff with cameras and promise to share the pictures. Just grab them and ask to have a picture taken.

Is this a spiritual retreat?

No specific faith or belief system is promoted. Our approach is grounded, heart-centered, and inclusive – drawing on mindfulness, ritual and modern psychology. The tone is gentle, respectful, and appropriate for a wide range of beliefs.

What if my child is nervous or shy?

That’s completely okay – and very common! Our facilitators create a safe, welcoming environment where every participant can move at their own pace. Many children leave feeling more confident and connected than they ever imagined.

What happens after the retreat?

You’ll leave with practical tools and shared language to continue the connection and growth at home. So far all of our groups have organised to stay in touch and support each other beyond the retreat – we encourage this! We also offer ongoing mentoring and programs to support you beyond your retreat experience.

Can I get a refund after I register?

We do not provide refunds if you decide not to come or cannot make it after you register. You may transfer registration to another family, provided they pass our application process. Please consider this risk and commitment before registering. By booking, you are agreeing to our Terms & Conditions.

What's the sleeping arrangement?

You and your child will share your own private room or premium glamping setup together, with either a twin or a queen/double bed, so you're close by the whole time.

Can you cater for allergies or dietary needs?

We cater for all dietary needs and allergies. We will ask you for details in the

registration process so our private onsite chef can plan around it

What if my child doesn't want to come?

That's really common, and honestly, it's often the sons who are most reluctant who end up getting the most out of it. Our team has a lot of experience helping mums navigate that conversation, we've got strategies that work, and we're happy to talk it through with you before you book. Reach out and we'll help you find the right way in.

Do the mentors spend one-on-one time with them, or is it all group-based?

It's a mix of both, whatever's needed. The retreat is built around group experiences, but our mentors also make space for one-on-one time as it's required, whether that's a quiet conversation, extra support settling in, or just a moment away from the group.
